About Jeet Rao – UK Board Certified Consultant Maxillofacial and Cosmetic Facial Plastic Surgeon. Born in Merseyside, brought up in North Wales and now living in the North West of England, he enjoys time with his family and friends. He enjoys travelling, music, learning the piano and a keen environmentalist on sustainable living. When able to his indulgences include skiing, motoring and good food, and offset’s these by being ‘carbon positive’ where possible.
Current Practice
A GMC registered specialist and NHS Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, fully trained in the UK. His NHS sub-speciality interests include management of cosmetic facial plastic surgery, facial skin cancer, facial deformity and post-trauma surgery. His independent private practice is based at Spire Cheshire in Warrington, The Beaumont Hospital in Bolton and Pall Mall Cosmetics.
Training
Training to become a Maxillofacial Surgeon requires dual qualification in dentistry and medicine, and Fellowship training from the Royal College of Surgeons. This has meant he has over 20 years of training and experience, which is now exclusively on the head and neck.
Mr Jeet Rao is a UK Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon🔗 recognised by Intercollegiate Cosmetic Surgery Board🔗, of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK. Certified Surgeons are able to demonstrate their commitment to safe and ethical practice of cosmetic surgery putting patients first. He has undertaken an Advanced Interface Fellowship in Cosmetic Reconstructive Surgery🔗 in the North West of England, UK. Training under a number of cosmetic reconstructive surgeons gaining experience in aesthetic facial plastic surgery, skin cancer and reconstructive techniques and a Member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons.
Positions held and continued training
His educational achievements include a PGDip in Clinical Education🔗, appointed as a Training Programme Director at NHS England (Workforce, Training & Education), and enjoys training the next generation of surgeons. He holds an Honorary Lecturer post for Lancaster University Medical School, and past-OSCE examiner for UCLAN Medical School. Keeping up to date with conferencing, research and audit projects in his clinical interests. Previously been a reviewer for the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His clinical governance interests are in clinical effectiveness, clinical and patient reported outcomes.
